State Party Convention - Runoff Speeches

  1. Speeches by Runoff Candidates

  2. Continue State Party Platform discussion and finalize and approve it for General Election usage

  3. Precinct/County Caucus on Platform

You will be taken to the State Party Convention Meeting by your City Counselors


10:30 a.m.

County / District Grassroots Campaign Events

Identify and select General Election candidate to fill holes in Ballot

You will taken to the Quad by your City Counselors


11:30 a.m.

Precinct Chairmen report to Election location

  1. Precinct Chairmen sign up for shift for overseeing runoff election and will preside at Election and explain procedures

Lunch with your City — 10 Cities eat — 10 Cities vote follow schedule

You will be taken to the Meeting location by your City Counselors

Depart for Capitol via Parade route

Boys State on grounds of Capitol

  • Statesmen will visit various offices of elected officials and tour the facility

  • House and Senate members report to their respective chambers

Deadline for Corrections to the General Election Ballot (corrections must be made by the Precinct, County, or State Party Chairman, depending on office sought by a Statesmen)

  1. Additions or corrections must be submitted in writing by the State/County Chairmen.

    • State Chairman fills any vacancies on State Ballot.

    • County Chairman fills any vacancies on County Ballot.

    • County Chairmen within a District jointly fill vacancies on the District Ballot.

  2. Additions may not be already on ballot for another position.

  3. No additions may be made after the deadline.

Change into recreation clothes (including Boys State t-shirt) that are appropriate for the Olympiad and associate evening activities

City Faceoff and Announcements

You will be taken to Clark Field by you City Counselors


7:15 p.m.

Recreation Period Begins: All Statesmen will be involved in 1 or more of 5 different activity categories:

  1. City Olympiad - these are tournament games in Basketball, Dodgeball, and 7-on-7 football

  2. Boys State Band

  3. Seminars

  4. Rules, Campaign and Platform Committees

  5. Talent Show tryouts

Same are prior day Rec Period
